Vacation Blues or Real Life Blows
March 23, 2009 at 10:30 AM
Do you ever come home from vacation and think, oh yeah, this is my life? Shit.
What is wrong with me? I just got home from a vacation, I shouldn’t be this grumpy. But my apartment looks even smaller than I remember, and thanks to my downstairs neighbor everything reeks of greasy Chinese food.
Or maybe the funk is due to the fact I woke up to snow:
Usually I come home and find Daisy running in circles because she’s so happy to see me. Without her, though, my apartment just seems depressing. I’m hoping picking her up from the kennel after work today will snap me out of post vacation funk. If not there’s always alcoholism and drug abuse.

awww 🙁 Daisy will surely cheer you up. She’ll be excited times a million to see you tonight.
Welcome back! I think it’s snowing just for you.
That means you had a great time on vacation. Good vacations = depressed as shit when you get home.
I’m sure the snow doesn’t help either… wine and chocolate will! And of course Daisy!
How does getting to wear those cute wellies not make you at least a little happy?
I agree with Melissa, how can anyone be unhappy with those boots? They make me smile just looking at ’em!
A wise friend once told me “The only way to get over a guy is to get under a new one.” (That wise friend was you, BTW).
I suppose the same holds true for vacations??
Also….if you do, perhaps, go the alcoholic/drug abuse route, I know a great facility here in the land that NEVER snows. She’s called Betty Ford.
I would say it’s nothing a huge bottle of wine, a pug and some Gossip Girl couldn’t fix. Oh and food, if you prefer to take your calories in solid form.
At least you have cute shoes!
It seems like we had opposite breaks- I was home with my dog Daisy and now I’m back at school and miss her tons!
welcome home! cute boots, yo
Hang in there! This happened to me when I came home from vacation last fall. It was the most depressed I had been in a long time. I couldn’t beleive that my real life sucked this bad. How did I not notice that before? LOL. But you’re talented, beautiful and even though you probably hate it you get to go to school! I’m totally jealous.
Thanks everyone for making me feel better about the funk. Daisy is home and everything feels back to normal!
