I love hearing from readers, not as much as I love wine, but a VERY close second!

Thanks!

Grace in Small Things #7

1) A clean bathroom: I love my bathroom clean, but sadly a clean bathroom is not an event that happens as often as it should. Maybe if there was some sort of medal for cleaning your own bathroom that would help motivate me. Or tile scrub that comes with supplemental vodka.

2) Girlfriends: I’m blessed to have some kick ass bitches in my life. I know how lucky I am to have them because in the past most of my friends are male and borrowing clothes from guy friends is just not the same. It’s way too much like the 90s when I wore baggy jeans. Eek.

3) Black clothing: I think I’m going through some sort of adult gothic stage, without the leather corsets.

4) Daisy: This old girl of mine makes me laugh every single day. Seriously, look at how cute she is.

5) A new toothbrush head for my Sonicare: My teeth are so thankful I’m worried they may hump my leg.

Grace in Small Things #6

Between the snow today and RLO pissing me off I could really use some positive thoughts. Because otherwise I may kill him with his own fancy knife set. This may be the most forced Grace in Small Things entry to date, but forcing yourself to be positive is sort of the point.

  1. Road tripping to Logan tonight for the Post Secret event with Bishop Deal and the car snacks that always go hand-in-hand with road trips
  2. Watermelon flavored gum
  3. My black and pink umbrella from Target
  4. Free cheeseburger
  5. Bribes masked in the form of Skittles

Grace in Small Things #5

1. Cheap shoes from Payless.

2. A fun new writing gig with Wasatch Woman. I’m going to be blogging for them here every Monday. Bookmark the page and go there often!

2. Black tee-shirts.

3. Scooter weather! And a brother who is going to get it all charged and ready to go.

4. Peach Fresca

5. An upcoming visit from Kelli!

Grace in Small Things #4

Today kicked my ass. The only way to get past it is with a big shot of positivity… and vodka.

Since I don’t know what this “The Secret” bullshit is that my friends keep blogging about, I’m going to stick with my usual boost of positivity: Grace in Small Things.

1) My readers: You people have no idea how much I love reading your comments and emails. I’m continuously amazed that complete strangers are rooting for me. It makes me want to kiss each and every one of you on the mouth. (With tongue if you do my statistics homework!)

2) Aveda Shampoo presents from my friend Summer. She is beloved.

3) My study buddies, Danielle and Jeff, without them I’d never make it through school hell.

4) SPRING BREAK!

5) My brothers. The four of them constantly drive me bat-shit-crazy, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world. I don’t tell them enough, but I love the hell out of each of them. I know they would do anything for me, and I’m so grateful to know them.

Sometimes I forget how incredibly blessed I am.

Grace in Small Things #3

I really need a dose of positivity right now, hence today’s Grace in Small Things post.

1 Receiving Valentine’s Day cards in the mail
2 Reese’s Puffs breakfast cereal
3 Clean sheets
4 My niece, Hannah, agreeing to take me to Starbucks

I dropped Daisy off at the vet clinic early this morning for a day of tests. I’ve put this off as long as I could, but it’s time to admit to myself that she’s sick, and NOT getting better. The vet has been treating her with antibiotics on and off for the past year, but sadly it’s not helping.

I’m hoping today will provide some answers about what’s going on. This dog is my kid, and I need her to be OK. I’m scared, but forcing myself to remain positive. Positive thinking apparently includes calling the clinic every single hour to check on her. I’m that dog owner.

Grace in Small Things #2

It’s cold, rainy and I have a zit on my cheek, but I’m still in a fantastic mood. Insert happy weekend dance here.

It seems like a good time to post for Grace in Small Things, but I’m only posting four. Not because I don’t have five things to be thankful for, but because I’m slightly OCD and hate ending things in odd numbers. PLUS four is my favorite number.

1) An exciting new writing gig!
2) Cute boys who buy me chocolate
3) Mrs. AK
4) Movies at The Broadway Theater in SLC

Grace in Small Things #1

I’ve never taken part in any sort of 365 project. I can’t commit to one brand of shampoo, so committing to a certain type of blog post or picture every single day gives me anxiety. BUT, I’m going to give the lovely Schmutzie’s ‘Grace in Small Things’ a shot.

If you haven’t heard of Grace in Small Things you can find more info here, but the gist is to list five positive things. This is perfect for me because I did make a resolution to be more positive in my life. I can’t commit to daily, weekly or even monthly posts. It’s going to be whenever I feel like it because that’s how I roll.

Here are five things that made me giddy and positive today:

1) Vanilla Chai Deodorant… my armpits smell like fresh cookies. How is this anything but positive?

2 Pug snuggles when I’m stressed out.

3) My MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice concert ticket. HELL YEAH!

4) The smell of fresh-brewed Dunkin’ Donuts french vanilla coffee in my apartment.

5) Nerdy co-workers who keep me laughing even when I’m grumpy.
